Terms of Service
Last updated: 26 June 2026
These Terms govern your use of Pet IQ (“the service”), operated by 1000845699 Ontario Inc., an Ontario, Canada corporation (“we”, “us”). By using the service you agree to them; if you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
1. What Pet IQ is — and isn’t
Pet IQ is a for-fun cognition and personality experience for cats and dogs. The “IQ”, archetypes, and scores are playful, owner-perception profiles for entertainment and enrichment — not a veterinary or behavioural-medical service, diagnosis, treatment, or a measure of your pet’s actual intelligence or health.
Our content is inspired by published frameworks (canine-cognition research and the Feline Five); we are not affiliated with or endorsed by them. If your pet shows a sudden behaviour change or a possible medical sign, please consult a veterinarian or certified behaviourist.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) and able to enter a contract to make a purchase. The service isn’t directed to children.
3. Your pet & your account
The free test stores your pet’s details and answers so we can show you a result. Creating an account (by email or Google sign-in) lets you reopen your profile on any device.
Each account keeps one pet profile, and a purchased profile is fixed: its result and IQ are derived deterministically from your saved answers and don’t change, and re-taking the test isn’t available once a profile is unlocked. This keeps the result honest and consistent.
4. Purchase & billing
The free test and your pet’s archetype reveal are free. The full Genius Report and member features (“Genius HQ”) are a one-time purchase.
Pricing: $1.99 USD as a limited-time intro price shown for a short window after your pet’s results are ready, reduced to $0.99 USD if you choose to share your pet’s card at the unlock step, or $12.99 USD at the regular price after that window ends. Sharing is optional and never required in order to purchase. Either way it is a single payment — there is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no recurring charge of any kind. The exact amount is shown next to the pay button before any charge — completing the purchase is your agreement to it.
Your purchase unlocks your pet’s report and Genius HQ for that pet’s profile, yours to keep — we don’t re-bill you to keep access.
Payments are processed by Stripe; we don’t see or store your full card details. A receipt is emailed for the charge.
Nothing here waives your local consumer-law rights — for example Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, US state consumer-protection laws, the Australian Consumer Law, or New Zealand’s Consumer Guarantees Act.
5. Legacy subscriptions
Before Pet IQ moved to a one-time purchase, membership was sold as an auto-renewing subscription. If you subscribed then, your plan continues on its original terms (renewal price, renewal date, and reminder emails) until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account billing page in about two clicks; access continues until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and we don’t bill you again after that. New purchases are never subscriptions.
6. Acceptable use & pet welfare
Every activity is designed to be gentle. Never drop, startle, restrain, or stress a pet to complete a task. Use the service only for lawful purposes, and don’t misuse, copy, scrape, or resell it.
7. Content & intellectual property
The service, its archetypes, illustrations, copy, and Genius Cards belong to 1000845699 Ontario Inc. or our licensors. You keep ownership of any pet photo you upload; by uploading it you grant us a limited licence to process and display it to provide the service to you.
8. Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Results are for entertainment and enrichment and aren’t guarantees of any outcome.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, 1000845699 Ontario Inc. won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
9. Changes & governing law
We may update these Terms; we’ll post the new version here with an updated date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, except where your local consumer law gives you stronger rights.
